Igbo language

   The language spoken by the people and the domestic speakers of the language. The language is picked based on the pitch, vocal inflections, and context when defining the meaning of a word. A single word can have numerous meaning depending on the factors. For instance the word, "ike"  has five meanings namely: ' to share ' 'power strength', tying something '  bunch of something'  and 'buttock' . Professor Afigbo, " the term Igbo has shown itself to be rather chameleonic changing its meaning according to time and political climate." The meaning of Igbo languages get deeper when spoken with idioms and proverbs which the speaker is not expected to explain except to non Igbo. It is uniqueness of the language and its origin is not known yet.

  Theory about the origin of the language basically came from the study of Armstrong which indicates that it came from the " Kwa sub - family of the Niger Congo family of language" . Non igo adjudged the language as one of the hardest language to learn because of the high  and low tones which indicates differeñce in the meaning and grammatical relationships, as well as the same word standing for the speakers and territory. The unique features of the language is that it is not spoken anywhere on the world except in Igbo land by ndigbo.


The language has 36 alphabet comprising of 8 bowels udaume, 19 consonant and 9 blends udamkpi. The alphabets : GB, CH, gw, are udumkpi, GB is different from G and B , which are mgbachiume. The people are called Igbo not IBO. Professor echeruo states : we ha e a language which is so efficient ons its structure that some say it was first spoken in Eden. " The distinctive and many variations of the language make it special with the issue of idioms and proverbs. Thereby , any Igbo man or woman, who does not use idioms and proverbs in speech in Igbo land, is considered a novice , unworthy son and daughter
