ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
Entrepreneurship is an aspect of what man gets involved in that gives him room to utilize his potential. It allows such an individual opportunity to exhume all his abilities aiding him to find out where he has strength. Entrepreneurial spirit is one that is on the lookout for problems which he could provide solution to. It is instructive to note that it is possible to be in business and not be an entrepreneur and vice versa.
This suggests to say that Entrepreneurial spirit is the spirit of being resourceful. Perceiving a need and seeking ways to prefer solution to such a problem. It must be said to be an active spirit against passive has traces of compassion which enables him perceive problems around. What is your opinion about that little lady hawking round the street? How often do you think it is as a result of poverty that people learn and market craft? What is your perception about white colar job!? Let's get it straight poverty is not a reason people learn craft, it could have stirred from passion. White collar job is no guarantee or surety for riches. Research has shown you can't get wealthy by just white collar job. Perhaps for the boy on the street, it is as a result of his affinity for business that drove him to the street not necessarily poverty, to some it is in born as perceived in leadership. The huzzling spirit, active and passionate attitude to some comes naturally. For Bright it is the undeniable desire to be resourceful.
He is a young lady some months above the age of 10 but he already exercise this affinity. He is a child to an average parents so they really didn't lack. But that didn't limit the lad who consistently pestered his mum to allow him engage in business.for him, it will go a long way in solving problems not necessarily making money .After much resistance from mum, he without her consent sold snacks to his mates in school saving them the stress moving across the street to make purchases. This is actually what it means to be possess an entrepreneurial spirit -perceiving problem and getting them solved. On a beautiful afternoon when the young lad came back from school, his mom decided to go through his bag, what she saw marvelled her. It was some currency notes, she beckoned her son to enquire, Bright told his story about business, his mom was left in awe. For bright, it was a turning point as his mom began giving him maximum support as she perceived this trait could not be stopped It is succinct to digest that one core spirit of entrepreneurship is persistence. this entrepreneurial spirit has proven over time to be an irresistible ingredients to successful entrepreneurship.
Notable entrepreneurs like Femi Adetayo,Aniekan Usoroh,George Essien, Mark Zuckerberg and many more. These men do not literally partake in buying and selling of goods and services but have persistently over the years provided solution to people's problems and that is what it means to be resourceful which is the core tenet of entrepreneurship. Mark Zuckerberg solved a communication problem, Adetayo is providing solution to lack of purpose as he coaches young minds to dare. Aniekan and George could talk you out of being lazy and set you on your path to success. This feat they didn't achieve over night, it came as a result of their consistent and persistent search for ways to provide solution to man's problem. Life it's self is risky, do you know? Oh yes it is. The car you boarded to your house without preknowledge of who the driver is, that is risk. What if he decides to kill you? How sure are you the drugs given to you by the pharmacist will cure you? The corn beef you bought could have been poisoned. These are risks life comes with. It is no different from an entrepreneurial spirit. The journey is loaded with uncertainty, so they keep daring grounds. Are you afraid to loose money, work late hour, sell, communicate, being rejected "?if yes, you may as well not be able to trade the Entrepreneurial street. There are times you loose, you gain, you loose, the circle continues. You can curtail risk but not avoid it. It is one admirable feature that has made entrepreneurs stand out. They go all the way to get problems solved. And the next time you think of an entrepreneur that is a risk taker, think of the young man that used his life savings to start a business he is not too sure will growth. This statement goes "it is risky not to take risks " they keep making waves because they dared. Have you ever felt deeply for persons who are suffering? Have you ever been moved by the condition of those in IDP camps? Have you ever thought of what you can do to help relieve them off the stress"? How compassionate you could have been. It is an endearing feature in man, even more endearing in entrepreneurs. You know why"? It takes one who is deeply moved about a situation to go miles to get relief for the affected. Entrepreneurs perceive problems and are moved which cause them to go in search of solution. If one is not compassionate, he can rarely perceive opportunity to solve people's problems thereby provide value. The Persons that brought uber were persons who were moved by the condition of people who had to wait by the road side for long before they can board a vehicle. they were not just moved, they went in search of solution ..they introduced a system where a car comes to pick you on demand and the called it uber.
Mark Zuckerberg solved the problem of communication with the introduction of facebook. When you are compassionate ,it moves you to add value. That is what entrepreneurs do. Entrepreneurial spirit is been COMPASSIONATE, PERSISTENTLY taking RISK. and being RESOURCEFUL.
