The tradition Christian teaching on baptism



 According to the official teaching of the church,   baptism was instituted by Jesus Christ.  The catechism also affirms the neccesity of baptism for the salvation. It holds that baptism is necessary for salvation. Baptism is the respond to the faith received through the preaching of the gospel and the proclamation of the gospel is a necessary prerequisite for baptistism for adult. Baptism is regarded as the sacrament of faith, it is within the faith of the church that each of the faithful can believe and this faith needs to mature,  for it is not perfect yet. During the era of early fathers the doctrine of the neccesity of baptism for salvation was in the indical with the membership of the church in the sense that only those who belongs to the church were consciene saved. The church teaches that baptism conferes grace , it has saving effect on the believers, and the catechism of the catholic church mention two principles effect of baptism. Purification from sin and the comferal of the new birth in the spirit.  Others event are  as follows

1. In baptism all sin is forgiven , including but the original and personal sin and the punishment due to them. BoBoth baptism does not take away the sin of natural  propensity or inclination to sin, what is the the traditional called  concupiscence.

2. Baptism does not allow purify from all sins but also makes one a new creature.

3. It confers satisfying grace , which enables the baptist to live in supernatural lives.

4. It also states that all the baptise has received and indailible spiritual mark, such that no sin can increase . The implementation is that the person can not be baptized twice of once validly baptized.

   They are also  baptism that are non sacrament. Baptism of blood , and baptism of desire. While baptism of blood conciene those ,  who because of there faith in Christ , suffered death, prior to baptism , why baptism of desire conciene that catechist men who died prior to there baptism. The cathecism states that baptism can be administrated to both the adult and the infant. Which regards to adult baptism, the adult go through catechumenate  meant to bring them to conversation and there faith to growth period to baptism. Which regards to infant, because they share a faillen nature of man by the corruption of original sin, they stand in need of salvation, which is brought about true baptism so as to share in the new birth and benefit of the freedom of the children of God in Christ Jesus, on this note , is written.

   The second Vatican council , dogmatic constitution  on the church , teaches us that baptism orients  us to the worship of God and gives to rebirth as sons and daughter of God. The council holds that baptism indicates us in to the pascahal mystery.
